cocoa is really easy to trade, once it starts running it never comes back, so it doesn't really matter WHEN you buy into a rally or sell into a drop ... you always win, because it just doesn't return, not a single bit. ...The only thing you can't do is sell into a rally or buy into a drop, if you follow that rule, you will always make money in cocoa

Out of all short positions. Consolidation phase now. For a person who rarely trade commodities there's no more immediate interest here. Back to volatility trading (VIX/VX). If you look for "bubbles" or extreme out of the ordinary price levels take a look at OJ/Orange Juice. May be the next Cocoa case shortly.

Monthly review for April 2024 is out (at ICCO website). Nothing new out there. In short term, the price will be driven by weather in West Africa (rain = drop). In long term, taking into consideration transition from El Nino into La Nina at a record pace, it seems that next crop season (starting from October), finally may be good for cocoa (La Nina = oversupply of cocoa). So I would not be surprised seeing 3000 USD by the end of the year.
LOL .... you are reading what you want to read .... fundamental price in the range of 6.000-8.000 .... Please listen to the speech of ICCO President on youtube ... they will increase the prices ... And no.... rain is not allways drop .... too less rain is no drop ... too much rain no drop .... and it is important when the rain is falling ... At the other side you must have a look for temperture ... etc....
Trade what you want. That's just my opinion. Cocoa was trading from 1700-3500 USD forever, and now fundamentals says, that 8000 USD is fair price, because we had 3 years in the row of worse crop? Maybe, maybe not. Today's price is anomaly and 2000-3000 USD is regular price. Anomaly won't last forever. Just now, the mid crop looks much better than anticipated. Lower deliveries at ports in Ivory and Ghana, are balanced by much better deliveries (like 2x) at Nigeria nad Camerun ports (smuggling I guess - because market prices in those countries, contrary to regulated prices in Ivory and Ghana). Plus there is stockpiling of grains in Ivory by speculators (again - regulated prices). Plus, El Nino, causing droughts in Africa has already ended. Plus La Nina will be announced any week. Good luck with medium/long term longs. You will need it.
And one more thing. There were lower crops, but there was no lack of cocoa grains. Grindins were rising r/r, despite lower crops. How was that possible? Due to inventories, both on stocks (ports) and on producers warehouses. Those inventories has diminished, but are at 2016-2017 levels. Check the price of cocoa back then. Was it 8000-11000 USD? What will happen, if next year crops will be just average? Do you believe, we will have low crops forever?
